The deposit-refund system is not only a way to get money back for returned packaging, but also has a real impact on the environment. Every returned package means less waste in landfills and a reduction in environmental pollution. Your participation and involvement in the deposit-refund system are important – together we strive for a more sustainable future!

How does it work?

The responsibilities of Collection Points (i.e., retail establishments covered by the deposit system) include:

You are purchasing a product covered by the deposit system, meaning one that has a label or packaging indicating the deposit amount. If you purchase a beverage in a plastic bottle, a 0.50 PLN deduction will be added to your receipt, and if you purchase a product in a glass bottle, a 1 PLN deduction will be added.

After consuming the beverage, do not throw away or crush the empty packaging! Do not remove the label – it is necessary for verification of the packaging during return. Go to a Collection Point, a location that accepts packaging from products covered by the deposit system. This location may be a store, wholesaler, or a freestanding packaging collection machine.

Return the packaging to a Collection Point and enjoy your deposit back!

What products are covered by the deposit-refund system?

The deposit-refund system covers single-use plastic beverage containers up to 3 liters, metal cans up to 1 liter, and reusable glass bottles up to 1.5 liters. To check if a specific product is eligible for the deposit-refund system, check the label. If it has a label indicating the deposit amount, it means the packaging is returnable.
