About Us

We operate the PolKa – Polska Kaucja deposit system. Our role is to organize and manage the collection and recycling of packaging and packaging waste.

The goal of these activities is to create sustainable and effective waste management solutions. We want every package to have value, waste to become a resource for reuse, and recycling to become a daily habit for everyone.

We support the development of an effective collection model together with our business partners – Muszynianka, Piwniczanka, and Cechini. We are also collaborating with InPost and are piloting the deposit system with retail chains – Carrefour, Społem, and Netto.

In October 2025, the deposit system will become mandatory for most stores. This applies to stores over 200 m² and those offering beverages in reusable packaging. Smaller stores can join voluntarily.

Who creates the deposit system?

The deposit-refund system is created by everyone – producers, stores, collection points,
transport companies, recyclers, and consumers. Everyone has a role to play.

Producers and importers

are responsible for introducing products covered by the deposit-refund system and financing its operation.

Shops and retail chains

Shops and other places where consumers can return packaging and collect a deposit.

Consumers

return empty packaging in exchange for a refund of the deposit, supporting recycling.

Local governments

They collaborate on implementing the system, ensuring its compatibility with local waste management.

How does the deposit system work?

The deposit system is a mechanism that supports the recycling and reuse of beverage containers. It involves collecting a deposit upon sale of the product, then refunding it upon returning the empty container to a collection point.

Starting October 1, 2025, the system will cover most stores – it will be mandatory, including for outlets with an area exceeding 200 m² and those selling beverages in reusable bottles. Smaller stores can join voluntarily.
