Deposit Refund System – New Opportunities for Your Municipality
A nationwide deposit refund system will be launched on October 1, 2025. It will provide real support to municipalities in their efforts to clean public spaces, increase collection efficiency, and educate residents about the environment.
PolKa – Polska Kaucja, as the licensed operator of the system, offers local governments comprehensive and flexible support: from education to full implementation and daily operation of packaging return points.
Partnership, not burden
The deposit-refund system does not replace local waste management; rather, it strengthens and relieves it by taking over the collection of PET bottles, aluminum cans, and reusable glass bottles – the waste most often found in public spaces.
This allows the municipality to achieve better, visible environmental results and significantly higher collection and recycling rates – without additional operating costs or bureaucracy.
